As long as she can remember, Laura Teagan has spent most of her life in a book. Whether she’s reading or writing, books have been a constant companion.
From the first time she read an entire book in a day (Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus) in first grade, to the time she read a 15-book series in six days, Laura’s always had a book nearby. With her love of words, it was only time before she started telling her own stories.
Laura dabbled in short stories in middle school, but it was in high school that she took off. During her junior year, Laura’s novel, The Assassin, was a “top pick” on HarperCollins’ website, inkpop.
As a “top pick,” The Assassin was read and reviewed by a full-time HarperCollins editor. Before inkpop closed, Laura launched three other stories, including two sequels to The Assassin, and a stand-alone novel, Snatched.
During her college years, Laura worked as a publicist for a small publishing firm. It was in her time with the firm that Laura realized she wanted to do things her own way and go the indie route.
The Assassin was published in November 2015, followed by Double Played in August 2016.
In March 2019, Laura released Airtime and Alibis, the first book in the Emily Burnet Series. The second and third books in the series will be out in Summer and Fall 2019, respectively.
In addition to her novels, Laura has worked in politics and currently works in the tech industry. A life-long Texan, she currently lives in Austin, Texas.
