Finally, it’s NaNoWriMo time + a Q4 Update
It’s November. It’s scorpio season (aka my season) and I’m ready for November. In addition to NaNoWriMo, I have some decent time off from work and a few trips planned this month, ready to get out on the road again.
October has flown by and while I feel like I made some great progress on plotting this NaNoWriMo story, I’m also missing some basic details, like the name of my love interest. Whoops.

This is the first time in a few years that I’ve done NaNoWriMo, so it’s going to be a wild ride. I’m still using the HB90 method for the three big goals.
GOAL ONE: Plot and write a new story (probably a serial) to have it ready for a 2023 release.
I have one goal for word count (good/better/best):
50,000 / 60,000 / 70,000
The idea is to have the first draft done this quarter, spend Q1 2023 working on the fourth Cassie book, and then get this done after.
Update: I did most of the planning for the first episode of this serial and most of the second episode, but the rest of this is going to be flying by the wind.
GOAL TWO: To post on social media to grow sales and mailing list. I want to focus on Reels and TikTok as those are the most popular platforms right now.
I have two number goals (good/better/best):
Instagram: 700/850/1,000
TikTok: 200/400/600 followers
Update: yeah I sucked at this all month. I posted one TikTok and maybe three instagram posts. I’m hoping to post a daily recap for NaNoWriMo on both TikTok and Instagram, so wish me luck. I will need it.
GOAL THREE: To heal my body and soul of 2023.
These are personal goals, so I won’t share specific details. I will say, one of the goals I have is to donate time and of body? That sounds creepy, but in November, I’ll be donating hair to be used to make wigs for kids with cancer, and I’ll also be donating blood here in Austin.
With my thyroid disease, I’m tired all the time. Physical labor, long days, those are so hard for me to recover from, so I feel bad for not volunteering in that way. But I try to donate in ways I can.
This month will make or break me of the rest of the year. We’ll all find out together.
