The Ginger's Blog Tips: WordPress Plugins

I’ve been on wordpress for eight months now, almost. Crazy to think about. One of the most important things to moving to wordpress is the plugins. They’re like extra boost packs for your blog and I love reading lists about people’s favorite wordpress plugins, so I thought it would be fun to share my favorites!wordpress plugins

1.) Login Lockdown | With everyone from Sony to the government’s twitter account being hacked, you can never be too careful and this plugin locks an IP address out after so many failed login attempts. It’s a nice way to make sure the bad guys k
ep out!

2.) WordPress to Dropbox | You need to be backing up your blog, you never know when you’re going to have your website go down. This plugin will let automatically back up all your files to your dropbox account. Mine is backed up every Friday at 3pm, even if I’m not online!

3.) Edit Flow | This is a new one that I’ve just begun using, but I really like it. It allows me to leave comments on my contributors’ posts and it has a cool editorial calendar that I’m really starting to like. I can also set deadlines and specific requirements for each post like it must be “x” amount of words, or it needs to have an image with it.

4.) Fancier Author Box | This plugin adds a little bio to the end of each post, so this is also a new one I’ve been using now that there’s more than just myself on the blog.

5.) WordPress SEO by Yoast | Okay, so I don’t know anything about SEO, really, but I do know how to make the post give me a green “good”sign for my post. This plugin could not be easier to use!

These are just a few of my favorite plugins. What are some of yours?
