My New Hair Care Secret Weapon
This post is sponsored by Acorn Influence and Walmart, but all opinions are my own.
One thing I don’t mention a lot on the blog is my thyroid disease. I have a disease called Hashimoto’s, which you can read more about here. One of the symptoms is dull hair. My hair doesn’t shine a lot, and I lose hair constantly (more so than healthy people).
I dye my hair a lot, partly because I love the color, but because it feels and looks healthier after I dye it than when I don’t (great logic, right?) But, I can’t be constantly dying my hair to make it look nice and feel soft.
That’s where this new brush comes in, my new hair care secret weapon, if you will (I write books about an FBI agent – what do you expect?). The Goody Clean Radiance brush (you can find it at Walmart) has copper bristles that help decrease hair build-up over time, which helps your hair become and look healthier.
Maybe because I have a background in marketing and advertising, I’m always a little skeptical of products, but I’m still willing to try. I’ve been using this brush for a little more than a week now and I love it.

This brush has become a part of my daily routine. It’s stylish, and it doesn’t hurt when I pull on it. With a body that basically attacks itself (thank you autoimmune diseases), I’ll take all the help I can get. I also love that this brush doesn’t really hurt when I tug on my hair. Props to Goody for creating a great hair brush.
When I dye my hair red, I’m super careful to make sure I only wash it when I need to (usually every other day), and my hair can still look oily after day two. I used to just throw it up in a messy bun, but now with with dry shampoo and this brush, I can actually do something with it on day two. And by “do something with it,” I basically mean braid my bangs. I don’t know how to do anything else with my hair.
If you feel like you need a new secret weapon for your hair, I’d definitely suggest the Clean Radiance hairbrush (which you can find at your local Walmart). In fact, in the next few weeks, I’ll be giving one away.
