My Writing in 2017

Well, since “writing and publishing” goals are not a part of the Be Bold in 2017 challenge, I decided today was a good day to talk about mine. I’ve made it no secret that publishing is something I hope to do full-time some day. Setting up goals that I know I need to reach are important to getting there.
My Writing in 2017
In 2016, I had plenty of writing goals. I think I met one of them, which was publishing Double Played. And even that happened three months after my original plan. So, needless to say, I failed pretty much all of my writing goals last year.
2017 will be different. I refuse to let it be the same. I’ve got a few things up my sleeves in terms of products to help budding authors, including a mini-course on building your author website on WordPress.
Another thing I have planned is an e-course that’ll help authors organize all their notes, projects, and everything, both digitally and on paper so they can go back to writing their stories, because isn’t that what’s the most important?
Back on the fiction side, I’ll be releasing two books this year, but they’ll be toward the end of the year. The way the story has unfolded, the fourth book, Hit List, picks up just a day or two after the end of Justice & Lies. I’ll be going through and working on these two stories in one big sweep, and they’ll be released within two months of one another, probably in August or September.
Y’all, I’m still in the middle of Justice & Lies, but I’m so excited for everything happening in these two books. Yesterday, on my author website, I released the summary for Justice & Lies. That totally means I can share it here, right?

Winter in Washington, D.C. is the perfect time for a serial killer, or two. Special Agent Cassie Morgan and her team are on the lookout for two men leaving behind a slew of dead cops in their path. As the bodies continue to pile up, Cassie struggles to stay focused thanks to one big distraction:
Brent Rossett’s trial.

Cassie knows she’ll be telling the world a few lies when she takes the stand, but one bombshell confession is soon forgotten when a woman shows up murdered near the courthouse. All signs point to the crime being the Assassin’s, but he has the perfect alibi: his trial.

Now the FBI must deal with a copycat killer, and everyone is watching and waiting for him to come after Cassie. While trying to solve her own assignment, Cassie constantly finds herself in the middle of the copycat case and she’s realizing she might have to make the ultimate deal to finally put an end to the mob’s obsession with her.
These books are probably some of the most complex I’ve written, with lots of moving parts, but I’m so excited for how they’re turning out. And even if it’s still a while off, I’m so excited for you to read them later this year. Oh, and also, excited to help other authors out, too.
