Preparing Your Blog for 2016

The second week of December is already here, and before you know it, 2016 will officially be here. With the year wrapping up, it’s time to think about preparing your blog for 2016.
This post contains affiliate links, but all opinions are my own.
Preparing Your Blog for 2016
If you’re planning to take time off at the holidays (and you should, at least some – it’s the holidays!), you’ll want to prepare in the next week or so. The new year is the perfect time to launch something new, or maybe retool what you already have.
For me, I’ll be doing a bit of a content shift as I graduate college, but nothing drastic. With the end of my college education and the new year, it seems like the natural time to transition to something new. I’ll be using all of this suggestions, and I hope you’ll take what you need to to create a stellar plan for 2016.

Preparing For 2016

  1. Redo Your About Me page
  2. Set up a new social media schedule
  3. decide on any new design aspects/themes
  4. Create Workflows and Systems (or adjust if needed)
  5. Run an audit on your website
  6. Track popular posts and decide if you can expand upon them
  7. Update our social media bios
  8. Add a mission statement for your blog and for 2016
  9. Get a blog planner
  10. Complete a reader survey (mine is here).

The last two are two crucial ones. A blog planner is important to being successful. But, with like other planning things, everything is in moderation, and it’s totally okay to change things up. In fact, I changed things up for this post. Right now, I’m using this blog planner, and Corey gives a great example on how she uses sticky notes with her planners, and I started using that method. I’m obsessed.
Reader surveys are important for your overall direction. Well, okay, not the make or break for your direction, but it’s always nice to get some idea on what you’re doing well and what you can improve on. That being said, I would love it if you filled mine out.
Either way, I hope 2016 is a wonderful year for you and your blog!
Do you have any plans for your blog 2016?
