Quarter Three Goals
It’s the most magical time of the year. Not really, but we’ve made it halfway through this year and today, on Monday, it is the start of a new quarter. I love the start of a new quarter. A new attempt to make some magic.
A new attempt at writing a book. Back in April, I was feeling the itch to get back to writing and that lasted all of two and a half weeks until I cracked my laptop screen and lost all the momentum to write. It also took ten days for them to fix it, and by then, I was over my terrible first draft.

Then I started working on planning for the rest of the series following And She Runs. I had all of May planned out, I was going to plan a book a week for the month. That didn’t happen – there was just so much happening and then I ended up being sick.
With everything happening in the beginning of the year, I really need this to be a kinder second half of the year.
My main focus for the quarter is to complete a draft of And She Hunts. That’s what matters most and I started it yesterday evening. Aiming for at least 1,000 words every day. No idea what will happen, but we’re going to try.
Outside of writing this draft, there are a few other things I’ll be working on. One of my goals is to build out character information in Notion. I want to have all the details somewhere else that is not in my brain and not in a notebook. I love my notebooks but sometimes I need to just have access on my computer, so I do want to build an archive of these books for reference.
The other thing I’ll be doing is working on my newsletter, setting up a new introduction series, so when people sign up for emails, they get to learn a little more before receiving regular updates. At least that’s the plan.
I truly hope at some point, I’m making waves with being an author and I want to have the systems set up before that happens.
So, here we go, trying one more time.
